CAPABILITIES

The purpose of the Biomedical Research Core facilities is to provide research support and training to established investigators who are members of the Center for Human Nutrition, to trainee members of the Center for Human Nutrition, and to CNRU Pilot and Feasibility Award recipients. Three core laboratories are supported by the Center: the Clinical Science Research Core, the Animal Model Research Core, and the Biomolecular Analysis Core.

The CNRU Biomedical Research Core Facilities will be available to Center members conducting nutrition-related research on the basis of a priority ranking as follows:

1. Pilot and feasibility studies funded by the CNRU.

2. Peer-reviewed projects funded by the National Institutes of Health or other federal agencies.

3. Peer-reviewed projects funded by sources other than the NIH and other federal agencies.

4. Non-peer reviewed funded projects.

5. Projects that are not funded but are needed to obtain preliminary data for future grant applications.
