CAPABILITIES

1. Maintain breeding colonies of genetically modified mice relevant to nutrition research.

2. Provide genotyping of mouse lines.

3. Assist and provide training in mouse breeding and general animal husbandry.

4. Provide nutrition-related biochemical analyses of mice, including measurement of serum lipids, lipoproteins, non-esterified fatty acids, glucose, insulin, and glucose tolerance testing.

5. Provide mouse body composition analyses.

6. Provide quantification of atherosclerosis and histologic analyses of atherosclerotic lesions.

7. Assist with short-term (stress) and long-term (training) mouse exercise studies.

8. Provide education and database services related to nutrition research.
